Trust and safety
People share more when they're sure they're safe.
Every part of Xhunt is designed so that people stay in control of what they share, who they meet and what is done with their words. Here is how, in plain language.
For people
Your choices are the rules.
- Private by default
- Every profile field starts as “Only me”. Each person decides who else can see each part.
- Two yeses before contact
- Names and email addresses are shared only when both people accept an introduction. Declines are silent.
- No ranking, no scoring
- Nobody is rated or sorted by how useful they are. Community totals appear only when at least three people share.
- Your data, your copy
- Download everything we hold about you as a file, or delete your account yourself, at any time.
Under the hood
Protection that doesn't depend on a screen.
- Access decided by the database
- Every table has row-level security. Even if a page had a bug, the database would refuse to return what a person is not allowed to see.
- No master key in the app
- The web application never holds a key that bypasses these rules. Privileged actions run as database functions that re-check who is asking.
- Records nobody can edit
- Consent decisions and audit entries are append-only. Steward views of the member directory are recorded there.
- Every field classified
- Each piece of data carries a sensitivity class, and our logs are built so they cannot contain names, emails or anything a person wrote.
AI
The assistant suggests. People decide.
- Drafts only
- It drafts profiles and posts, summarises workspaces and suggests clearer wording. Everything it writes is labelled and editable.
- Never about people
- It never introduces, scores, ranks or describes anyone, and it never sends or posts anything.
- Checked and optional
- Every answer is checked against an expected format, shows how it was made, and the product works fully with AI switched off.
- Your switch
- Organisations, communities and each person can turn the assistant off.
Accountability
A record you can read.
Your sharing history is kept in a record nobody can change, and you can read it on your profile.
