Say you are interested in a call for help. If stewards accept you, a workspace opens for the people involved.

Opportunities
An opportunity is a specific piece of work a steward needs help with. Some are for one community only. Others are also open to people from other communities.
Open the opportunity and read the outcome and commitment.
Write a short note about what you could bring, and send it.
The stewards see your note, your name and only the profile fields you chose to share with them.
Stewards decide who joins. Declining is silent. If they accept you, you are added to the opportunity’s workspace.
Workspaces
A workspace keeps tasks, a log, a brief and a conversation together. Only the people in it and its community’s stewards can see it.
- Tasks: the next concrete steps and who will take them.
- Log: updates, decisions, questions and evidence. Entries cannot be edited, so the record stays honest.
- Brief: a shared plan with a template, writing checks and a version history.
- Catch up: a summary of the log in which every point links to the entries it comes from.
If you are invited to a workspace, you choose whether to join. If you join, the people there see your name. You can leave at any time.
Messages
Conversations open after both people say yes to an introduction, and inside workspaces you belong to.

- Logging time and sharing your availability
Keep a private record of time you give, and plan around the hours you can usually offer.
- What the assistant does, and never does
It drafts and summarises where you are already writing. It never introduces, ranks or decides anything about people.
