How introductions work
Both people say yes before either sees the other. Saying no is silent.
For: Members, Stewards · Checked 27 October 2026
An introduction can come from a steward, from someone who answered your post, or from someone who asked to meet you. Each one shows a short reason, not a name.
You see the reason under “Waiting for your answer” on the Introductions page and on Home.
Choose “Yes, share my details” or “No thanks”.
If you both say yes, you each see the other’s name and email address.
- Neither of you sees who the other is until you both agree.
- Saying no is silent. The other person is not told.
- Each introduction is open until a date shown on it. After that it expires.
- A steward can suggest the same two people once every 90 days.
Asking to meet someone yourself
Where people search is on, you can ask to meet someone you share a community with, from Discover or from a community’s People tab. Add a short note about why. They see your note, not your name, and decide.
You can also answer someone’s ask or offer in a community. The author decides whether to connect. If they say yes, you both see each other’s name and email in Introductions.
After you are introduced
Introductions that both of you accepted are listed under “You’ve been introduced”, with an Email button. Where messages are on, a Message button opens a conversation in Xhunt.
