Quality guide

Make it easy for someone to say yes.

A little context helps your community understand what you need, what you can offer and what happens next.

For a useful post

Say what, who and when.

Start with the ask
Put the request or offer in the first sentence. Use everyday words and explain any local terms.
Add enough context
Say who the work is for, what a helpful response looks like and any relevant location or language.
Be specific about time
Include dates, expected hours and whether the work is paid, voluntary or still being scoped.
Protect people’s information
Do not post someone else’s phone number, email or personal story without their permission.
For an opportunity

Set fair expectations.

Describe the work honestly
List responsibilities, experience needed, support offered and how someone can ask questions.
Be clear about the arrangement
State pay or expenses, time commitment, location and any eligibility requirements up front.
Welcome different paths
Where practical, describe transferable skills and offer an accessible way to apply.
Close the loop
Update the post when the need is met and let interested people know what to expect next.
